Providers/Physicians

To add a provider, select New from the Providers list.  Use this screen to add providers for your practice or to add referring providers.

* The actual data for this box is determined in the Payer setup screen.

** You can specify the Tax ID number or the SSN to appear in box 25.  See the Payer setup screen.  You can include dashes with these numbers for clarity, however the dashes will be removed when the claim is printed.

*** State license numbers and taxonomy codes are typically not transmitted to the claim form.  However, there are options in the Payer setup screen to show this information in box 17, 24, and 33.

This screen allows you to enter all Providers and Referring Physicians.  If the Physician is a Provider in your Practice, and you will be recording claims with this Provider, then check the box that says Check if this Physician is a member of this Practice.  If this box is not checked, then you will not be able to select this Physician when you create claims.
